Strict visitor restrictions due to COVID
25th January 2022My relative has been in Cavell Court for about 8 months. They've had COVID several times and this means we've not been in at all. We can only talk to her through a glass frame in the old potting shed. They have spoke to us about not being able to have visitors and regularly send email updates but there has been no information on when things may be back to normal. She's having good care so I can't complain about Cavell Court but it's just the visiting restrictions. They did open up and we got in to see her once but the minute there is a case they lock down completely again. Surely there is a way they can allow people to visit still - they may not have long left and the visits are so important.

Inter generational learning experience
26th November 2018Pathways is small 6th College for students with complex needs. We were invited along to Cavell Court to share a poetry and craft experience with the staff and residents. It was a lovely afternoon and it was wonderful for the students to get out into the community and mix with a different age group and was very beneficial for their social interaction and communication skills. We hope to work together on future projects with Cavell Court.

Well organised activities - Very Welcoming
10th August 2018I took along a group of overseas nursing students who wanted to share something of their culture with the residents. The care home was well prepared for our visit and the approach of staff was facilitative and supportive. The activities introduced by the students were welcomed by staff and residents alike. On looking round the home I could see that plenty of age-appropriate stimulation was taking place on a daily basis and that residents were engaged in individually meaningful activities.

Work Support
27th November 2017I work as a Job Coach in Norwich supporting young people into employment. Almost one year ago a young person who I was working with gained a permanent full-time role with Cavell Court. In the time this young person has worked for Cavell Court, they have been very supportive of them. Both the young persons line manager, and the Home Manager, have supported them in developing professional skills as well as showing an interest in their life outside of work. They have worked collaboratively with myself and show support in others areas of MINT such as offering both work experience and mock interviews. Whenever I visit Cavell Court all of the staff are very friendly. It is always a pleasure.

A great location with great staff
12th November 2017As a regular visitor at Cavell Court, the home is always clean and tidy, from the minute you walk in the door, you are greeted with a smile and warm welcome which continues throughout the time you are there. The staff treat all residents with the dignity they deserve, and nothing is ever to much trouble. There are a range of facilities for the residents from cinema to hairdressers.

Norfolk Police Visit
11th November 2017Attended with South Norfolk Police cadets. The welcome received by staff at the home was exceptional. Well looked after by everyone. The care and love shown to all residents was evident and the Staff and Management are a credit to the company. If there were more homes like this across the country then family members would consider this as an option every time.

Well thought out & inclusive visits/activites
27th April 2017I recently had an invitation to visit Cavell Court in my capacity as an interactive storyteller.... I use animal puppets as a gentle way to engage with residents and to encourage communication. I was made extremely welcome and it was wonderful to see the staff's enthusiasm when I was able to get positive reactions from the residents. Cavell Court clearly takes a lot of trouble selecting different types of entertainment/therapies for their residents to cater for their differing interests. It was very special to be able to work in an environment with such a positive regard for their resident's wellbeing, and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Superb homely facilities for the elderly
14th September 2016I visited Cavell Court this week and was really impressed with both the facilities and the environment. There are so many thoughtful and well planned ideas for both the elderly and in particular for those with Dementia. There are some great activities and lots of choice for people with a range of hobbies and interests. The lounge area were well thought through and I loved the rummage box ideas and table in the corridors. A lovely friendly facility with warm and welcoming staff, especially one who's passion and commitment to the facility shines through.

Amazing facilities for Dementia and elderly
14th April 2016I work for the Alzheimers society and have visited Cavell Court on numerous occasions also some of my clients go to the Cogs Club on a Thursday for people with Dementia. Amazing environment and very person centred approach by the staff, would highly recommend to others and will continue to do so in the future. Lovely attitude by staff also brilliant example of what a great Residential care home should be like.
