  I am very happy to be a patient at Humbleyard Cringleford Practice. A while back I had some anxiety issues and the doctor gave me great support and advice which in turn helped me enormously to improve my quality of life. I have recently started to suffer with gout and contacted the doctor through the website. The service from the doctor was excellent as he carefully explained all about my condition and quickly arranged medication. I took a blood test yesterday and the doctor got back to me this evening and arranged for my medication to be increased. I really appreciate the new way of telephone consultations and being able to contact the surgery through the website. You are looking after me and my family very well and I appreciate your kind and professional service. Thank you

• No appointment given to a child

  On 22.7.21 I wanted to book my 5 year old daughter in for a check up due to suspected ear infection. The phone line was not working so I submitted an on-line form. After a few hours I received a reply stating I submitted a wrong form and to submit another. This alone defies any logic, creates unnecessary workload for yourself and me and increases waiting time. After submitting the correct form and waiting for several hours again, I received a reply stating there will be no appointments given to my child due to staff shortages. Case closed! No alternatives given. My belief is that you suppose to prioritise the most vulnerable, which includes children!? And why does no one has the courtesy to at least phone or write to me with an alternative arrangement in another surgery or the following day? The service received is appalling and shameful.

• Huge Improvements Needed in Reception

  We have only been with the surgery for just over 2 years. We don’t very often need to use the surgery but each time we do it seems such a struggle to get an appointment. Routine appointments for contraceptive pill checkups had to be done as an ‘emergency’ appointment. This lead me to contact the surgery and discuss these issues with the practice manager. I was assured this was being looked at and improvements would be made. More recently i have tried to book in baby immunisations and received a rather rude email advising appointments not available that far in advance and I’ll have to contact again. We were advised that the hospital to write to the GP to sort it, we shouldn’t keep having to chase this up! The reception team need some serious customer focus training! The clinical staff have all been excellent, polite, friendly and helpful. It’s just difficult getting to see one of them!

• Terrible system

  I tried to make an appointment with a nurse but instead of an appointment I received a question with no means to reply. Who tested this system?

  I've been a patient here for 5 years and have no complaints - lots of places suffer from massive increases of patients/new housing. I've used a variety of services including doctors/health care assistants/nurses/admin - and can't fault any. They're busy; stretched to the limit sometimes; and it does take time to familiarise yourself with the new website. It can take persistence to get through by phone. But overall it provides more/not less help. And they've been brilliantly organised as a Vaccination Centre - even on days 'just passing', they're working so hard, with well-trained volunteers. I doubt anyone can use correct pronunciation of a wide variety of multi-syllabled names; but I know they always try to be helpful; and every staff member I've come into contact with has been professional, efficient, and supportive.

• Incredibly difficult to book an appointment

  Incredibly difficult to book an appointment. I’m relatively computer savvy and struggled to find a way to book an appointment using the website. I would have preferred to use the phone but this was not an option. The website is not user-friendly. It took quite a few attempts to fathom out that I had to resort to writing a note to the receptionist, wait for a reply and then go back into the system and write another note to the receptionist. The point is, if I found this difficult then someone more elderly or with less computing ability would find it almost impossible.

  Just had an appointment with a GP who was absolutely brilliant. Listened to my problem patiently, provided what he thougt was the problem and asked me what would make me feel better. You are a STAR!

• Covid jab

  Visited Cringleford surgery on 19 December 2020 and 09 January 2021 for 1st and 2nd covid jabs. The whole operation was handled smoothly and efficiently by helpful and polite staff. Well done.

• An excellent practice

  It is not the practice ‘s fault if lamentable town planning leaves it overburdened with patients. It has been an excellent surgery for the 45 years we have been patients there. All members of staff are highly qualified, experienced and professional. It remains first class and patients registered there are very fortunate.

• Racist and ethnocentric

  I am a black woman. On visiting the website I am horrified. It seems that the white surgery staff have serious pronunciation impediments or dont realise their behaviour is an example of racist microaggression. They cannot call the ethnic minority doctors by their proper names. Oh dear. Foreign names with more than 2 syllables is too much for them. The medical staff must have difficulty pronouncing Cringleford, 'neuroscience', orthopaedic, paediatrician. Won't go there. My name is 5 syllables long.
