  My 12 year old has been using Children's services for some time. We think the staff are friendly. She sees the same doctor every time and we are very happy with her, she makes her feel calm and listens carefully.

• Miscommunication

  We had a major issue with our son's diagnosis and referral. We had an 18 month wait for the initial appointment because of information mismanagement. The support can be confusing at times; I have to call the secretary or receptionist to get an appointment but that can be difficult with a lot of back-and-forth. It's hard to connect GP with hospital - it's not clear how my son's medication will be reviewed, for instance. I know other people who are still having issues: their children coming into referral process with a lot of complex information about their needs, but they are not getting seen because of miscommunication

• Good quality of provision after long wait

  The service is too overworked - we had a long wait to be seen initially but once our foot was in the door it was less of a wait. Referral came through the GP - our son has been seeing children's services for 8 years. 8 years ago, referral wait was 18 weeks. Now, our other child was waiting for nearly a year to be seen. Once you are in the system the services are fantastic: staff listen to you, and friendly, give advice, and the follow up support is excellent: I can call up for help and guidance. It can take a little while for the Doctor to get back to us with the results but I understand they are busy. The process for reassessment is very quick, services always get in touch with me to confirm when my children's appointments are due. Some information and advice hasn't always led us in the right direction but I understand the pressure on services. Waiting time is my main concern, not the quality of provision. Schools can only do so much as mainstream school for child with autism and there is no back up support until you have assessment.

  First appointment with Child Services, referred through health visitor. We had a 12 week referral wait but knew it might be longer - was told might be 18 weeks but did chase to check still on list

  Referred from health visitor, didn't take too long to refer. Generally good with child, give me good advice.

  I visit the pain clinic here every six months, the appointment system is very good. It's easy to use the service and the parking is much better than anywhere else. The care is very good here.

  I was referred to the service by my GP. I see a specialist here every six months for ongoing problems. They check my progress and do medication reviews. They have helped me access support, like getting a wheelchair to use. They are brilliant, and the specialist always sends a letter to my GP after I've been in for an appointment, to update them on my progress. Appointment times are good and I'm never waiting.

• Maternity - Community Midwives

  I visited the community midwives here at the hospital during pregnancy and after my baby was born. For 14 weeks they didn't notice that my baby was tongue tied. My baby wasn't putting on a lot of weight and felt like I got blamed. I suffered with depression during this period because I thought I couldn't feed my son properly. They were trying to get me to bottle feed because he wasn't feeding enough. I eventually went to a private breastfeeding class and someone spotted he was tongue tied straight away. I went back to the hospital and had a procedure arranged for the next week.

  I've been here before for a blood test and been waiting for ages, but I went yesterday lunchtime and was in and out in under 20 minutes. Checked in at main reception, walked down the corridor and was called straight in. Very good service. GPs should advise on when the quieter times are for those who are more flexible to reduce pressure at peak hours and improve people's experience
