Everyone is so friendly
31st August 2022Everyone is so friendly and I personally have no problems - they are easy to get to, I get a lift down but the public transport is good to here too.

No complaints
31st August 2022I have no complaints with the surgery, all the staff are fine - I wonder if they could send reminder messages when you have been unable to book a flu or covid vaccine, as if you call and they have no appointments (which I understand) a reminder when they do have appointments would be really helpful.

Not back on track
31st August 2022I did have some good experiences but that Dr has now left. I should have regular check ups but they now don't happen. I understand through the pandemic but that has calmed down and Drs surgeries are not back on track. They are very good for the children. There is one Dr I refuse to see he is not very polite. Sister Roberts is amazing - friendly, caring and gives you the information you need.

They are good once you are in
31st August 2022They are good once you are in. Amazing Drs here. It is just getting through that initial barrier. I put things off and don't bother because I cant be bothered to wait. I had a lump in my breast and was given a phone call! You cannot do that on the phone. If you are meek and mild you won't fight for an appointment and things will be missed.

Politeness is very important and needed
24th August 2022Several times I will call the GP practice for a query and the receptionist will rush me everytime. Very difficult to explain your situation and get even a telephone consultation with a GP! Everytime she will rush an answer and then she will say: ALRIGHT? Like rushing to terminate the call. Not very helpful really and gives you the sense that they don't care. Is only one receptionist that keeps the same motive as I had other occasions that the other girls have been very helpful and i thank them for that. I work in a busy hospital and many times iam tired but being professional and polite is essential.

Appalling surgery I’ve had enough
22nd August 2022Since my wife’s cancer diagnosis which by the way was diagnosed by hospital as couldn’t get an appointment at st James surgery we have been met with a really flippant don’t care attitude by receptionists almost every time we requested a repeat prescription as soon as my wife has finished her chemo we will be leaving this surgery

waste of time and effort
26th April 2022Tried contacting the surgery for an appointment to see a doctor but was told nothing available and to try early next morning. Called the surgery next morning and ended up at 20 in the queue at 8.02am then got cut off at reaching number 2. Tried again and was 18 in queue, by the time I got through there was nothing available apart from a phone call from the nurse. I took the call from the nurse only to be told that if the problem was no better over the weekend then to call again on Monday. Phoned again Monday , same thing, long waiting queue until told by a 'know it all' type receptionist that I could have a GP phone call the next day. After speaking to the doctor I was told they would like to see me but not until the following week, a whole seven days later. What has happened to this surgery ? It's so hard to see a doctor now , they seem scared to see anyone since covid. Everyone is expected to go back to normal practice, they definitely haven't. This is only one occasion warranting bad feedback as it has happened several times now. Total waste of space !

problem with my toe. being diabetic
21st April 2022I had an appointment for my B12 Injection for 08.20 I rang the surgery the day before to see if the nurse would look at my toe which had been swollen all-over the weekend .I was told the nurse would take a look for me .The nice nurse took a good look and did not know the problem. She went to see the staff on reception who made a appointment for one of the team to ring me that afternoon which they did. I had a very nice lady who had seen the photos the nurse had taken and she diagnosed gouht to which they gave a does of pills and some ointment to take the swelling down. which does seam to work as I am diabetic on insulin I would like to thank all your staff for first class service. well done
