Long wait

Last time I came for a same day appointment the waiting room was way too cramped. There was too many patients and too much going on. I was given a time when I rang up and I had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes longer than what i'd been told.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you were not informed that there may be a wait with our same-day appointments, we ask for receptionists to inform patients of this when they book.

Only deal with one complaint at a time

I've been here 8 years now. It's fine regarding the Drs, but currently they'll only deal with one complaint at a time which is difficult when you have several things. I preferred the hours when it was Greyfriars.

Thank you for your feedback. We do ask that only one issue is discussed per appointment as time is limited, however, longer appointments can be booked if needed - please request a double appointment when booking should you wish to discuss more than one matter.

They were wonderful when I had my C section and it started to get infected. They got me in right away.

The GP surgery is brilliant, much better than where I lived before. It's all good. I think there should be more stickers to tell you where to go though. Once you get up to level 2 there is nothing to say where to go next.

The staff are very good but it can be difficult to get an appointment. They always tell you there are none left and tell you to call the next day.

Thank you for your feedback, sorry that you have been unable to get a same-day appointment, our Urgent Care Team offer a number of same-day appointments which are available to book until the list is full - we do advise patients to call as soon as they can to book a same-day appointment.

They are brilliant and it's easy to come here, it's convenient. It's easy to walk here and I prefer coming here to going to the Nelson surgery. I know the staff and they are ever so accommodating. They are friendly, really helpful and sensitive to my needs and requirements. I find the noise in the waiting area difficult so they let me stand outside and come and get me when it's my turn.

Thank goodness we can still see a GP when needed ,rang Mon morn @ 8-10 saw a GP at 10 ock ,excellent service ,excellent treatment from GP , understanding and did a thorough job thankyou lighthouse X

Cancelled appointment

I was meant to have my blood pressure checked as part of my diabetes but it was cancelled by the surgery. They then only offered me a phone appointment after that. How can they address my diabetes over the phone? The doctor is good when I get to see her though.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to learn that your appointment was cancelled. Our Nursing Team advise that Diabetes Reviews can be done over the phone and we have blood pressure machines at the surgery that patients can use or those with home blood pressure machines are able to give us the readings during a telephone appointment. I apologise this was not explained to you when your appointment was rescheduled.

Best doctors surgery I've ever been to. The staff there are so kind and take time to listen to you. They have helped me a lot . All my life other doctors said I had anxiety depression and so on, and no matter how much I said to the doctor's the tablets ain't helping all they done was up the dosage and not listen.. but The Light House actually listened so at age 37 I changed to the light house, and I was sent for a ADHD test with a specialist and now to this day I only take my adhd medication nothing more. So again I want to thank everyone who works at the light house because without your help I wouldn't be so settled and feel better about where my life is heading. From the doctors to physician associates to the nurses and receptionists thank you so much
