10.5 hour wait in A & E. Gave up as my wife was progressively agitated. We were urgently sent because a blood sample taken on the Wednesday before indicated low sodium levelstest & it was therefore a matter of some urgency. Given an appoitment 1 week lat
24th January 2025We were given an appointment 1 week later at 10.00am at SDEC. Not seen by consultant, despite being repeated told "You are next in queue". Left at 3.00pm in dispair. Also received parking ticket, despite giving details to receptionist in SDEC after 3 hours! I do not understand why the second blood sample could not have been taken 2-3 days prior to visit to SDEC, so results would then have been promptly available. We still have not had results 1 week later. NHS seems to never values patient's time when we sit waiting for hours! Also, the cubicles are not soundproof, so it was very hard for my wife to understand what was being said, given that she was very confused because of her low sodium levels.

this is a dangerous hospital
9th December 2024The staff seemed poorly trained there was poor if any communication between staff. there was no one to take charge of any situation. people called in for appointments that the hospital were unaware of people asking for pain relief for hours. you are not a human your just meat in a bed they have no care for the people in there. this is a dangerous hospital

There was no sound proofing in the butterfly suite
14th November 2024A few months ago I had a still birth at the hospital and the midwives were fantastic, they were 100% fantastic with me. I cannot fault the staff at all. But in the Butterfly Suite I heard three different people at different times giving birth to their live babies. There was no sound proofing. I know it's not their fault the staff were fantastic, but I don't think that should happen. I have only given a 2 star rating but it would be a 1 star rating if it were not for the midwifery team who were so good.

The staff in A&E were wonderful.
10th October 2024I was admitted via A&E and the staff were wonderful, I couldn't fault them. I did have to wait but when I was seen I was sorted very quickly and transferred to a ward quickly too. A&E was very busy but it seemed there were people waiting with very small ailments which kept people who were sitting in lots of discomfort waiting longer.

The nurses are very good but too busy
9th October 2024I go to haematology and the whole department seems so busy and a bit disorganised. It seems like the nurses are too stretched. The nurses are very good at explaining but it would be better if you could take something home with it written down as it's not always easy to take it all in and remember it. It is generally good though.

Friendly and accommodating
16th August 2024I have been to the Roxburgh children's centre for my son today and the were very accommodating that I had to bring my other child too. They listen to me as to what would work for my child, and he didn't even cry when he had a blood test, they were so good with the children and friendly.

Can't complain
16th August 2024The surgeon operated on me even though I am on palliative care which has made me able to eat some solid food again which has been a blessing. He is planning to do it again when I need it as well. I really can't complain about the amount and cost of the treatment I am having. I had a bad stay in Elm ward, the sister was a bit rude and there was only one walker between the 14 of us which meant getting anywhere was nearly impossible. They did not put my name and the fact that I was on a liquid diet above my bed and all I got offered was a sausage roll which I could not eat.

110%
16th August 2024I have been well looked after, the only thing the was a little wrong was the letter had the wrong date on it but I phoned up and that was soon sorted. The sister in dermatology while giving me treatment found something else that I had missed which turn out to skin cancer which I have now been referred for.
