Covid vaccinations
8th April 2021Thank you for an excellent experience this afternoon at Drayton. My wife and I were well looked after and volunteer Christine enabled us to have our jabs at the same time even though they were booked half an hour apart.

Vaccine turned away
3rd April 2021I work as a cleaner for a doctors surgery (via a external company) mon - fri and I was advised by the doctors there that because I worked in healthcare for nhs cleaning as key worker I was eligible for covid vaccine now. They told me lionwood surgery and Gurney surgery were running a drop in centre for covid vaccines on Good Friday, (was also advertised in newspaper as drop in on this day) and to get my jab there. So I went to lionwood first, took my contracts and id for proof but was turned away. 4 ladies on the desk (not doctors) explained I wasnt fitting the gov criteria and quite simply i wasnt eligible. I understand the gov criteria and wasn't trying to jump the queue and would never take a vaccine over someone who really needs it, but I explained the doctor at my work surgery told me I was eligible as a cleaner for nhs healthcare and to come to this drop in centre today. Again they told me no. All 4 staff were quite abrupt and not listening to my reason at all and simply said no. They said this wasn't a drop in centre today (although advertised it clearly was) and that the doctor at my work should give me the jab anyway and not them to which I explained they wernt doing jabs yet hense told to come to this drop in. My reason for writing this review is that the 4 ladies could have listened more and been less abrupt, making me feel I was wrong and a fraud to ask for this vaccine. Especially as when I left one of them said "worth a try" as if I was trying it on. Them saying my work doctor should give me the jab made me think they did think I was eligible but they weren't prepared to let me have one at their surgery. This surgery was empty and we know not everyone is taking up the vaccine and some getting wasted, so I thought maybe they could have consulted a doctor (if possible) before point blank turning me away. I felt they just wanted me to leave and were quite unfriendly in doing so, and need further training in customer service moving forward if offering a drop in service. Consequently I went on to Gurney Medical Practice drop in and they gave me the vaccine, agreeing that I was indeed eligible.

First Covid Vaccination
19th March 2021I was offered an option to make an appointment very quickly after my age group opened up. The appointment was easy to make and on arrival at the practice it ran beautifully efficiently. My husband and myself were in and out in a matter of minutes and all the staff were very pleasant and cheerful in spite of some of them standing outside in the cold for much longer than we had to.

vaccine response
2nd March 2021Can’t understand why Cromer Practice is so slow on the vaccine response as Sheringham Surgery is so far ahead. I understand that folk who went on Saturday to Sheringham there were no queues just walked in for their appointment. Blaming the Government for supplies doesn’t cut as down the road they are doing a real good job. I am in the unpaid career/age bracket that the Government says we should be receiving the vaccine and there hasn’t been a word from the surgery, why?

Covid vaccination
2nd March 2021Left hanging with no info on when I might be called for a vaccine. Have had the NHS letter for a week but nearest centres with space are 50 miles away according to website. Hoping for GPs to contact me soon. But they only have enough vaccine to operate once a week. Compared to younger friends in other areas who have had the jab weeks ago, we are slow. Considering this area has the highest number of older people, shouldnt there be more of an effort? Perhaps updating the GPs website would help. If I had a realistic idea of a date I might choose to drive 100 miles to Bury St Edmunds.

Helpful and genuinely lovely concierge
1st March 2021Dear Market Place Surgery, I am a patient of Reepham and Aylsham Surgery, as are my parents, not Market Place Surgery. However, I wanted to write in to you to thank you for providing both myself and my elderly parents with the C-19 vaccinations last month. I especially wanted to write to say how completely wonderful the gentleman who staffs the queues outside the front entrance has been. First when I brought my parents at 8am on Monday 18th January at 8am in the morning. He was extremely kind and had a lovely personable way about him and made us feel very welcome. We waited in the car following his instructions and then your staff came out to the car and completed the vaccinations through the window. Everyone was lovely, but especially so this gentleman. Then again on 28th Jan when I was then called last minute for a vaccination the night before. The appointment I had been given was going to be extremely difficult especially as I had district nurse appointments for my 2 elderly parents who I help care for that day too, in addition to juggling home schooling my two young children. At the same time did not want to turn down the opportunity I had been given. I decided to arrive at 8am to see whether there was any opportunity for movement. Unfortunately, on that day vaccinations were not scheduled to start until 9am. He was yet again very lovely, listened to me, took my details, explained the situation to me that vaccinations weren’t actually scheduled to start until 9am. It didn’t matter that my Plan B hadn’t worked as hoped, I just felt that he was very professional and personable, and that would have helped if he could have. As it was vaccinations did start a bit earlier than planned and due to the fact I was the only person in the queue that had filled out their authorisation form in advance I was seen immediately the doors opened at 8:45am. I just thought I should write and tell you, even if you know already what a great asset he is to you. He is the first person that a lot of the people who are visiting your surgery, some of them like us for the first time, and he really is a credit to your surgery. A genuine star!
