• Ongoing review of my mother

  Dr F...e has been so very helpful and understanding towards my mother. Last week we attended for a review. She listened, checked and encouraged. She also went as far as finding the right flu vaccine and gave it even though mums appointment to have it wasn't booked until November. Been with this practise for 60+ years. Always found them helpful, willing and available. I've worked as a community nurse myself and there is no comparison to other surgeries in the area for answering the phones within a reasonable time and offering appointment's likewise.   I have just written the practice manager a letter to say how wonderful they all are and to say thank you. I don't live locally but they have looked after my mother so well. Everyone has been so good.

  It's always been good here, been with this practice 68 years. The doctors are nice and everyone is helpful and friendly. All my family think it's great to.

  Can't see what else they could do. Been with this practice for 40 years and I am very happy with the doctors and the reception staff are very good. Today was excellent, there was a 40 minute time difference between mine and my wife's appointments but once she was done they saw me, so I am in and out with a trip to the pharmacy before my appointment time, you can't grumble at that.

• The Doctors are Lovely

  I think all the doctors are lovely, I never feel like they're treating me like an idiot. I feel listened to. I went recently with an issue and they picked up my problem immediately and I was sent for tests right away. I do find that sometimes it can be a bit hard to get an appointment, the phone system is very long winded. However, I always get a call back from the doctor when they say they will and then I am often invited to go in to see them face to face.

  Over the few weeks before my father passed away we received excellent care and support from everyone. The reception staff always took time to understand and always involved a doctor when they felt it was needed. The doctors, 3 were involved, were all superb, always taking time to visit, or call or speak with us as required, kept in contact with the community care and nursing team, and made sure we understood what was happening and what was needed. The pharmacy, although not strictly part of the practice, also deserve praise as they always had the many prescriptions ready and waiting and clearly had some understanding of what we were going through.

  I have found all staff, nurses and GP’s to be very caring and empathetic. I changed from another surgery to this one due to feeling like an inconvenience to my previous surgery and have found Lawson Rd to be excellent. I really like the online service as I don’t always have time to call for repeat prescriptions. And booking appointments online is easy too. However I’d like to be able to leave messages out if hours, but it won’t let me. And if I do leave a message with you I don’t get notified there is a reply for me. Can this be reviewed please. Thank you

  Thank you very much for your feedback. It is good to know you have found us to be caring and helpful. Unfortunately we took the decision not to receive messages out of hours, as previously some messages which had been left were urgent in nature and had been left when the practice was closed. We feel this would compromise patient safety. I will look at the set up of our messages again and make sure patients are told if there is a reply waiting. Thanks again for taking the time to contact us and letting us know of this problem.

  My son has severe anxiety and other health issues. He has always been treated with the utmost respect, kindness and patience at this surgery. The Surgery have tailored his appointments to his individual needs and always see him promptly which is a massive help with his anxiety. I can't speak highly enough of them. Thank you.

  Husband seen on the day he first noticed symptoms of cancer.referred to promptly. Now having ongoing treatment .Daughter and her family also at practice and grandchildren are seen promptly when needed. We have been patients for over 40 years . All staff brilliant . Thankyou
