Generally they are okay
6th September 2023I am usually happy and they are doing their best. However it can be difficult getting an appointment sometimes and the phone keeps you waiting for a long time. I was sent a text from the surgery asking me to make an appointment so I called but by the time I got through there were no appointments and I was told to call back the next day. So that is not great. They are doing their best.

Dr Ian saved my life
31st August 2023I had my bloods taken on a Monday morning and in the same evening after hours, Dr Ian phoned me to tell me that my levels were dangerously low and i had to go to immediate hospital. He arranged everything and i was an inpatient for 2 weeks. I had transfusions and procedures which is ongoing. I was told by the hospital that if it had been left a few days or weeks longer and my levels continued to decrease I would no longer be alive.

Same day appointments
3rd July 2023On a couple of occasions my husband has needed appoinments and they have both been same day. A long wait on the phone to get through first thing in the morning but then I leave the phone on speaker phone and carry on with other computer tasks. The receptionists have always been very helpful. I do however always make an effort to sort the problem before phoning for a doctor ie visit the pharmacist for a skin complaint and latterly check blood pressure incase that is a problem. The NHS site is good for basics. I have always found the doctors very helpful and never feel rushed etc.

Never can get an appointment
31st January 2023I have been told by dispensary that a medication I am on need GP review. I have to put script in every 2 weeks. I’ve rang the surgery twice now waiting 12 minutes each time to get answer which is expensive only to be told there are no routine appointments ( telephone call). Call again at end of week.

Asthma
5th January 2023I called the surgery as I have a cold and I have asthma. To prevent this becoming more serious, I called the surgery to say I feel I am getting a chest infection and I don’t feel I need an appointment, just some antibiotics (I have done this before). I was informed to go to my local pharmacy. They cannot prescribe me antibiotics, so I have had to call 111. I appreciate the NHS is overwhelmed at the moment but I don’t think this was helpful at all. If my asthma is not managed I could end up in hospital putting more strain on the NHS, when I have tried to be proactive and avoid a situation occurring.

Communication is poor.
29th November 2022I attended the surgery on 30th September with swelling and in pain after finding a lump. I was seen by a doctor who prescribed me antibiotics and referred me to the hospital for a scan for said lump. 6 weeks later I had heard nothing so I phoned the surgery on 7th November to find that the receptionist knew nothing about the referral and that nothing had been written on my notes. She said she would chase this up with a doctor and I left the matter like that and hoped I would hear something soon. I phoned again today 29th November to be told nothing is on my notes, I wasn't referred and that I would need to make another doctors appointment to be seen again, however no appointments were available today so phone back at 8.30 tomorrow. This is disgusting service it also is unprofessional but more importantly could be the difference between a patient being seen quickly and receiving treatment if needed which could potentially be life saving if it was the case of a cancerous lump. So I've now waited 9 weeks where noone has recorded any of my consultation. I've not got to make another doctors appointment when they can actually fit me in which is hard enough when people work full time. But also people build their confidence to attend a appointment like this and put aside any embarrassment. The communication is shocking and I am disgusted and disappointed that for something of this subject matter the service has been so unprofessional.

Long waits at the reception desk
11th August 2022I think there needs to be more people on the reception desk. I waited for 15 minutes to speak to the receptionist. Also you can hear everything going on, sometimes it would be more appropriate if there was a more private space to have certain conversations. It would also be good if someone could acknowledge that they knew you were there. Making an appointment on the phone is good.

I can't fault the service
11th August 2022I have not really had any problems. Every time I rang up during COVID it was really good. One time I called and they were too busy so they arranged a video call with a doctor outside the practice - It was a LIVI video appointment. I can't fault the practice, it's a very good service.

The staff are all good.
11th August 2022This is a brilliant surgery. The staff are all good. The car park facilities though are useless.
