Gentle mammogram
12th August 2024My recent mammogram was very good, I have them regularly post breast cancer. The nurse was so gentle, she was excellent.

Polite and helpful
12th August 2024My x-ray appointment was so quick, I was out before the time I was booked in for! The nurse and radiographer were so polite and helpful. They made me feel relaxed.

Ridiculous system
12th August 2024My husband has recurrent SCC, we know exactly what it is as he's had it before. He's under a consultant dermatologist and was given a direct number to contact, however he's been told he has to go back through his GP and the triage system which is going to take weeks. This is ridiculous as it's the same condition they already know he has and has previously been removed.

Everybody was so kind
12th August 2024They're absolutely fabulous. It was almost a pleasure because everybody was so kind. The Big C charity were fabulous as well. What could have been a not very nice experience was made almost pleasant. From the radiographer through to all staff - everybody explained everything fully which is what I wanted and needed. The only thing is I wish that when you tell them something it gets passed on. I have skin sensitivity which I told lots of people but in the op a gown was attached to me and when it was removed, it tore skin and flesh. I'm scarred now.

Staff do an amazing job
9th August 2024When I get a text for an appointment it's not specific enough- especially when I have multiple ongoing issues. The staff do an amazing job, training levels need to be respected and protected.

Should fire the cleaners
9th August 2024My mum stayed in the N&N for three months split over two wards. The toilet's were a state with blood on the toilet roll dispenser. The cleaner used the same cloth to clean the sink that they empty catheters into, to clean my mum's table. They don't open the windows either.

I can't see why people complain
9th August 2024I can't see why people complain about it. I fell and got seen at A&E straight away. The MRI was done quickly and I was referred to a physio which I have now seen twice. Everything works well.

Been waiting for 10 months
9th August 2024I've been waiting for a hip replacement since February and the wait for the heart monitor which I need is 10 weeks. They suggested that I went to London for my hip replacement but they had no consideration for how I'd get home.

Total Lack of IBD support line service
6th August 2024When a patient has inflammatory bowel disease IBD they are advised to 'call the IBD helpline', there is a voice message which says 'we will get back to you in 2-3 weeks. This is totally ridiculous and inadequate. The patient is unable to get help elsewhere, the GP or A/E will say 'you need to speak to your IBD team.' which takes at least 2 weeks to get any response. My daughter has been unwell and bleeding, not able to get feedback on blood results which she is asked to do every 4 weeks, so is unable to make necessary changes to medication.

Rude staff, no real answers and horrendous wait time
5th August 2024I experienced sudden excruciating pain in my abdomen around 8pm, decided to sit with it for a while incase the pain went away, and by 9.30pm I was vomiting with blood. Went to A&E and none of the staff seemed to care. The triage nurse was judgemental and rude, she also made a face and the cuts and scars on my arms and legs which was very unprofessional. After having a blood test I waited 5 hours for the results. My partner kept telling the nurses that my pain was getting worse and that I was vomiting more blood and they simply told him to sit back down. After blood tests results came back a nurse took me into a little bay and asked a few standard questions and prodded my stomach, actually pressed so hard on the painful area it made me cry. She told me my bloods were fine and there was no indication of infection or inflammation. She then asked if I smoked cannabis, I told her I used to but haven't smoked anything in well over a month, then she told me that the smoking is what's caused my pain and told me it's inflammation (but previously said my bloods were fine and there's no inflammation). She told me to wait in the bed I was in and then not even 2 minutes later another nurse came round and kicked me out of the bed and told me to go wait in the waiting room (which was filthy, drinks spilt, cups and food on the floor, tissues on the floor). The nurse that kicked me out then gave me some painkillers and said 'go now' and pointed at the exit and walked away. I am very unhappy with my treatment, the wait time and the staffs attitude and behaviour. No one seemed to care about any of the patients waiting, the staff were all busy laughing with eachother, and I don't think that my problem has been properly diagnosed. I am still in agony and vomiting blood.
