Very happy here
4th April 2019I'm very happy here. I don't often have to use the service though. A few years ago I went to see the doctor about my diet and they referred me to Slimming World.

No major problems
4th April 2019No major problems, in and out quickly. Just a matter of getting an appointment. Nurse practitioner is very good. In one circumstance he was able to prescribe medication and on another they referred me to the N&N and I was there in a couple of days.

Understanding of learning disabilities
4th April 2019My son has quite severe learning disabilities, and on the occasions I do have to bring him to the practice they're always understanding. He goes there for semi regular blood tests and they always give him the same nurse - so I'm happy.

Nurse practitioners a great asset
4th April 2019I'm more than happy. Particularly so with the nurse practitioner, who got my husband's cancer diagnosed quickly. Within two days he was receiving treatment in a hospital bed. I think nurse practitioners are a real asset to any surgery.

Took three attempts to get referred
4th April 2019I had to really put my foot down to get a referral to a physiotherapist on my third appointment with a particular doctor. Each time he just kept telling me to take painkillers, and told me it was just wear and tear. It doesn't inspire confidence that the doctors are so busy inputting data on the PC that they don't have time to properly listen to you.

Referred quickly to cancer specialist
4th April 2019It's a brilliant service, I'm really happy with the staff at Acle. In the last couple years they have identified two bouts of cancer and have got me referred quickly to a specialist on both occasions.

Uncomfortable seating area
4th April 2019The GPs are fine, but the waiting area is a bit horrible. The benches they have are really uncomfortable, especially if you have to wait a while. They would do better to just buy some cheap plastic chairs.

Would like more information about support
4th April 2019I take warfarin to manage a pulmonary embolism, and have been at the surgery for two years and still not seen a doctor. When I first moved up from Kent I saw a nurse who ran some basic checks and sorted out my medication for me, but I wasn't given any information about who to contact if I have any other concerns. Where I used to live the surgery gave me a direct contact number for someone at the respiratory medicine unit at the local hospital, but I haven't been given any such information here.

Don't have skeletal specialist anymore
4th April 2019My experience is usually okay at Acle, but they used to have a more diverse range of specialisms. There is nobody there anymore that know anything about skeletal difficulties, and last time I went I didn't get referred to a specialist.

Burst appendix not diagnosed
4th April 2019My son's appendix burst, but it wasn't initially picked up by the doctor at Acle. When we went for a second opinion the new doctor said that my son's urinary problems - which he had disclosed on the first appointment - were 'textbook' symptoms of a burst appendix. I don't know how he missed it in the first place.
