I developed an ear infection whilst on holiday (UK based) I put a form across to the surgery expecting they wouldn’t be able to help as I was away from home. Within 2 hours of the form being sent a prescription was with a pharmacy in the area I was staying in! I am extremely grateful to be with this wonderful surgery. They have always been able to help with emergency on the day appointments and even for non emergency the wait isn’t too long. Thankyou
I was told at my last visit to the surgery that in order to get a repeat prescription I would have to use the new POD system. The POD system then told me that I could not pick up my prescription from Hopton Pharmacy as the pharmacy dealing with the request would be Lloyds. I pressed ahead anyway and completed the online forms necessary and was then told that my request was being processed which involved Lloyds contacting Hopton Surgery to confirm the prescription. That was Monday the 3rd of July 2023. It is now Friday and the prescription has not arrived due to Royal Mail being unable to get the package into my postbox. The next delivery day will now be Monday 10th and seeing as I will be at work, it is unlikely that the delivery will be made then either. At that point I will be 1 week off my medication purely because of Hopton Surgery’s ‘new pod system’.
It is not convenient for the medication to be delivered, it is not convenient for the pharmacy used to be Lloyds as Hopton pharmacy is not part of the Lloyds group. I need to be able to pick up my medication from Hopton pharmacy, I need Hopton surgery to be able to arrange this for me and seeing as they would have to O.K a request from Lloyds anyway, I fail to see how any of this is more convenient for anyone other than Lloyds pharmacy.
Quite frankly the situation is unacceptable and as a member of the Ambulance Service, I find it a bit of an embarrassment to boot. Surely the patients needs come first? Surely, what is convenient to the patient trumps what is convenient for Hopton Surgery and Lloyds Pharmacy?
I need this sorted out, from what I have witnessed so far this new pod system seems to regard the patients needs as secondary.
I cannot fault the service I've received today. The receptionist I spoke with, Vicky, was kind and accommodating and did everything she could to get me access to a gp appointment. Following an appointment with a Dr Zukowski, I was overwhelmed and relieved with care I received. I have never had a Gp listen so carefully and so intently. She heard not only the words I said but the things I didn't say , offered a number of suggestions and solutions and I came away feeling like a weight had lifted. Please pass this feedback on to the staff directly as they work so very hard, and yet I felt as though they both made such a profound effort to treat me as a human, to really explore things for me and to help me find a way forwards.

Was totally surprised but pleased to recieve a text from the surgery letting me know that the eye clinic had told them I needed new eye ointment & this is now on repeat prescription. Never happened before!

Since i moved here a year ago myself and my family have had to use several of your services the gps plus referal to JPH or prescriptions. Whatever our need the Beeches has always been more than helpful polite and very accomodating ihave lived in several areas in my 63 years and i have to say this has been my best experience of any GPS and i for one cannot thank you and ALL the staff enough. you also made our transition from one gp to another very easy your the best

Over the last 2 months I have booked 3 face to face appointments at the Beaches surgeries. On each occasion the response to my appointment request has been speedy and efficient and the treatment at the surgery each time was excellent. All three of the clinicians were friendly and helpful and I feel that the treatment received was very thorough and professional. well done to all at the Beaches whether it be Sussex Rd, Shrublands or Hopton. Whenever we come here the appointments are on time, things are sorted out quickly. Getting an appointment quicker would be an improvement though, we booked a month ago for our appointment today.

They've always seen me when I've needed to be seen and follow up on problems I've had. I'd prefer to see a doctor each time though, sometimes I see a nurse instead.

I am glad that you have found that you have always received the care you have needed when you have needed it. I understand that you would prefer to see a GP, however - you have hopefully been signposted to the most appropriate clinician for your presenting symptoms. Our Multi Disciplinary Team are supported by our GPs, and this ensures that appointments with GPs are protected for patients who's problem can only be dealt with by a GP.
I hope that explains accurately why you may have seen a Nurse as opposed to a GP at times. But if you do wish to discuss it further please do not hesitate to contact me.
