My dad died on the 12-03-23, I took a week of self certified. I need to extend the sick note from 20-03-23 to 01-04-23. My work would like my sick note. Phoned surgery as haven’t heard anything to be told I need to wait until the 05-04-23 to speak to a doctor? How is this even possible? I need a sick note to cover me at work! What if the doctor decides on the 5th not to issue one? I’m in the process of it now! How can it possibly take that long to get a sick note agreed?

Firstly, my sincere condolences with regards to your loss.
It is common for patients to be given a Sick note backdated, and employers should be aware of this. This often happens because we are prioritising appointments for patients with medical concerns.
However, if your Sick note is due to grief/bereavement, I would have hoped you’d have been offered an appointment with one of our health care professionals or Social prescribers as soon as possible to receive any help you need. The GP would then been able to back date the sick note to the date of this assessment.
I believe I may have received a message relating to this complaint, so I will endeavour to look into this tomorrow and contact you directly myself to rectify the situation.
I apologise you are unhappy with the service received.

I rang for an appointment and the phone was answered very quickly, I was 2nd in the queue. A doctor called me back quickly and I was given an appointment and seen quickly. It was very efficient.

I think this surgery is excellent. They were even great during the lockdowns. I find them to be very accommodating, polite and friendly. Thankfully, I am quite healthy and I rarely have to use it. The telephone triage works well and I was pleased with my treatment by the nurse specialist.

They Go Above and Beyond

The surgery is really, really good. I think it's excellent and they always go above and beyond. Last week I called the surgery at 1pm about an issue and the doctor called me back 10 minutes later and told me to come in the following day for a blood test. I didn't have to wait long on the phone when I called, under 14 minutes. The receptionist was lovely and I felt like she really listened to me. A few months ago I had a fall at home and I called 111 for help. In less than 20 minutes one of the doctors arrived to lift me up and check me over. Excellent.

I was extremely impressed with my visit to the surgery today. It was an embarrassing subject that had to discuss and the lady practitioner immediately put me at ease. My condition was covered thoroughly and efficiently and I had no trouble understanding the treatment recommended. Thank you Julie for your extremely professional and thorough approach today . I also had no difficulty in the booking of this appointment and also a future blood test appointment made today
