A varied experience
27th July 2022Based on today I would give a 5 star rating. The surgery called me with blood test results and asked if I still had symptoms. When I said yes they said I would be called. 10 minutes later I was and seen within hours. However the overall 3 star rating relates to the following. In April I called after having chest pain and palpitations. I was told that a doctor would call - 6 and a half hours later they did. When I told them what I had told the receptionist I was told to call an ambulance immediately! There is also a lack of follow ups. Regular tests are not undertaken unless requested. Some GP's are a bit empathetic. Some locums are good, but never seen again. Some GP's excellent - just wish that one could get appointments with them.

Alright at the moment
18th July 2022It goes up and down but it is alright at the moment. Booking an appointment is usually okay but today was very good. Overall it is not as good as when we first came.

It's difficult to get an appointment
18th July 2022It was okay today but it is difficult to get an appointment. It used to be good but not so now. Once you get in it's generally okay, although it does depend on which doctor you get.

Normally fine, but not today
18th July 2022I am not overly impressed today and would give a 1 star rating. The doctor did not introduce herself and was chewing gum. I felt like I should not have been there. It was also difficult to get an appointment. However it is normally fine and if not for today would have been a 4 star rating

I feel a fool, and bothering them
11th July 2022I am not well, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, diabetic, aromatic, potential heart failure, multi nutrient deficiency, bone density problems, b12 , etc however most of this has been diagnosed by the Norfolk and Norwich hospital as every time I have attempted to see someone at heacham practice they dismiss me without actually understanding, ie not sending my several to my consultant at Norwich for an update on my osteoarthritis, they sent me for an x-ray at kings lynn, I'm in a wheel chair due to deteriation, and the x-ray person said I needed an MRI he didn't understand the referral. also I have a painful lump behind my ear, 3 times I tried to get a Dr to look at it and do something as it was painful and she said it was not attached to anything so it would be ok regardless of my pain, the 4th try I saw another Dr and was referred to a day clinic where I was added and booked in for a procedure to remove it, I now stand the chance of loosing all the feeling down the back of my ear and neck as it is attached to my nerve, hence the pain!! good job I kept asking!!! I have never been angry or rude, my language is always polite, but every time I'm spoken to by a doctor ( if I can get one that is), I am made to feel stupid (although PhD educated), and very much a bother on their time, I have NEVER been with a practice that is so had to get a doctor, so dismissive, so rude and so unbothered about giving any treatment. I am registered extremely vulnerable, and got Covid on Sunday testing positive at 3am, I dealt with 111 who were wonderful and who did tell me that I was eligible for an antiviral drug, they said to ring my doctors as they can help to arrange, I rang this morning and was told by a doctor it's nothing to do with them quite short, whilst saying why are you vulnerable anyway!! I am so disgusted and this is so unusual for me to say so....I'm trying to get along with my problems myself, I'm so upset and in repair and this practice will only notice when they take me off their books when I'm dead. I'm so sorry to sound so negative as usually I'm optimistic but this is a dire situation which is not getting better.

My nan and grandad have had so many problems
27th May 2022My nan got told she had cystitis when in fact she had bust tumors, her bowels were leaking into her blood stream and the only reason she found this out is because my grandad rushed her up the hospital after snettisham said she had cystitis! She sadly passed 10 months later. now I am having the same trouble with my grandad he hasn't seen a doctor since being diagnosed with gange Green of the feet last month, addenbrookes called us 3 days ago because they found something on his liver and we've heard nothing from heacham. I would change doctors if possible I am worried for other elderly people!
