Access from rural areas is hard
1st April 2019Access to the hospital in rural areas is difficult if you can't drive. It's an £18 taxi each way and we rely on family or members of the community.

Nothing but praise
29th March 2019I've got nothing but praise for all the staff at the cardiology department, everything was wonderful across the board.

Conflicted with private advice
29th March 2019I wasn't terribly happy with my consultant's attitude. I was advised privately to stop eating gluten because I've got gut problems. They put me on some medication then told me I should be on a high fibre diet which conflicts with the private advice. They didn't pay attention to the fact that I was much better. They just didn't listen, just giving out blanket advice.

4 hour wait for prescription
29th March 2019I had to be discharged from the hospital, but was still thought to be at risk of a stroke so needed medication. The pharmacy didn't have the right tablets at the time, and ended up having to wait four hours for them to source some. I think our NHS is the best in the world, but it's still not perfect.

Turned light off on me
29th March 2019When I broke my hip at the N&N I required some assistance to help me get to the toilet. An assistant took me over then as I was in there he turned the light off and left me there for ages. I couldn't get up so was just stuck. He eventually came back and begged me not complain, which I didn't. They're basically just so busy that they forget important things like that.

Met an abrupt nurse
29th March 2019I met one nurse that wasn't very nice and was very abrupt. The doctors were lovely and got to know me. But the nurse wasn't understanding. They said ring for assistance but they said I didn't need my painkillers. It was written on my notes but they still wouldn't give them to me

Hoping to live to 100 after care received
29th March 2019The oncologist was marvellous. Very lovely and fixed my cancer. I'm 88 years old and hoping to live to 100. They came to check up on me when I was on a different ward. It was a privilege to see him. Told me not to worry about radiotherapy and got it rescheduled for me. Now I'm doing great.

Pop up mammograms work well
27th March 2019The pop up mammogram portacabins run by the N&N work well. I attended one in Dereham, it was conveniently located and staff were really considerate.

System really works
27th March 2019The eye clinic is very good, their system where you sit on a certain coloured chair in the waiting area really works.
