Worrying
2nd September 2022Nursing staff were completely indifferent. Sat in pain for nearly six hours, in the waiting area, until I eventually caught someone’s attention. The Dr who eventually examined me was very thorough and professional.

Urgent ct scan not done
24th August 2022I have been waiting since September 15th 2021 for an urgent ct scan that was requested by surgeon then as urgent as he says have inguinal hernia and been severely ILL because of it . As keep feeling physically sick every week , in pain with it. Everytime phone up surgeon secretary she says very hard get hold of that department. Been to my doctors and they have said with everything going on at minute shouldn't take this long for CT scan be done. I would like to know what's going on as have had no communication from hospital since September 15th last year.

Ignoring ta 92 year old who can't get help
19th August 2022My mum was sent home from NNUTH after 28 hours on a plastic covered board.A diagnosed hip fracture, sent home in a taxi with a walking frame. No care, no Dr, no-one cared. The surgery said we can't see her as we have no discharge papers , she doesnt exist. We can't see her at home she isnt housebound, a Dr has to state this. She can't get to the practice she has a fractured hip she moves very slowly. Her wounds are bleeding on her bed, her bandages fell off, she wasn't allowed a comb. She was given one Weetabix, no bed , no care , she could hardly stand, her clothes were covered in blood, she was in shock. 2 days later after many phone calls the nurse dressed her wounds. 4 days later a Dr finally came after emails and calls. We weren' t there. A nurse came for the first time as a welfare check. No Care, no food nothing to help her cope We asked for an occupational assessment, since the start. Nothing happend. She took one hour to make a sandwich, then ate it standing up, at she can't carry it as she has to use her hands on the walker. She can't use the oven, she can't walk and use a pan.She can't eat a meal out of a microwave unless she eats it on the worksurface. She can't carry a drink .She can't shower due to her wounds. We have tried to help , the surgery has not done anything to help. My mum has now talked about an overdose as she can't live like this. We can't get the doctor to listen We can't get her any help The next fall she has will be due to the watchful negligence of the NHS doing nothing .What do they get paid for ?

Can be a long wait but good
15th August 2022The walk in centre sent me to A&E at the N&N as they do not deal with eyes. From there I got referred to the eye department. If can be a long wait for your appointment but when you are seen they look after you.

System is Broken
15th August 2022While I was there the care I received was fantastic, I was really happy with the nurses and doctors. However, I had to wait on a trolley in A&E for 17 hours. I was next to the nurses and heard one of them calling wards begging them to find a bed for me. When I eventually got a bed there was no room in the actual ward so for the first day I was put in the corridor. While I was on the ward there were lots of people around me with severe mental health issues. Hospital was not the right place for them. I think the system is just broken.

Staff rushed and busy but great
10th August 2022I have had two experiences in the last year at the N&N. The first is when I was slipped my disc. I was lying on the floor is so much pain and the ambulance said it would be 6 hours. I managed to get some to drive me to A&E and I was seen really quickly but everyone told me I had kidney stones even though I told them I felt me back go. They eventually scanned me and gave me pain killers. I had to stay in over night and the staff were busy and rushed but great. I also felt very well looked after when I had a problem with my heart. The paramedics were great and tried to avoid taking me in but they had to in the end. The Doctor who saw me when I got there was nice and really calmed me down. I felt really well looked after on ward.
