I had to go to A+E they were absolutely wonderful - I was straight in with no waiting and within half an hour I was on a heart monitor - unbelievable - couldn't grumble about it at all.

Ignored and neglected

I visited Dad during the pandemic. Im not local so the hour was precious. Not usually incontinent I smelt Dad had been incontinent immediately and asked for him to be changed after sometime I asked again and no one came into bay even though other bells ringing. They then came in wishing to change him onto pressure reliving mattress as developed sores. (skin was intact prior to admission) they moved him over but didnt bring stuff to clean and change him. I asked again and eventually someone came. I tried to complain on leaving but Nurse in charge on her break. Dad was discouraged from going to toilet or mobilising. He was both mobile and usually continent prior to admission and it's taken awhile to re establish. He was sent home without a pad so when he stood up having been loaded with laxitives he was incontinent everywhere. He was not dressed and sent home with another persons belongings.
As a nurse myself I understand both sides but this was unacceptable I complained formally. But PALS assumed ward sister would reply and visa versa so I had to chase this. I did however praise one particular staff nurse for care and attention and explanation.
I travelled 150 miles for 10minutes with Dad the rest chasing up getting him clean. I also noted the care rounding incomplete or frankly fabricated.

I\'m so sorry to hear of the experience you and your Dad experienced on one of our wards, and can completely appreciate how infuriating and saddening this must have been. I'm also sorry to hear that you felt unsupported when raising your concerns.

The people are really great but it is impossible to get there. The waiting is terrible. The whole experience is only worth 1 star. It's the waiting. I have had to go private

We appreciate how stressful it can be having to wait for appointments, and understand that there are currently longer than expected waiting times across many services in the Trust, and we're working hard to reduce these.
