Good experience at audiology

I had two appointments. I'm deaf so I went to the audiology apartment. It was not a phone appointment so warned it could be a while before my appointment. But I've had two visits now and it's been fine.

I was laughed at

I was referred to the hospital for issues with my hormones. The very first thing I was offered was chemical menopause, which is quite extreme. Nothing else was tried first. When I asked the doctor what side effects I might experience they said "you tell me". When I came back for a follow up I was in a lot of distress and said I'd rather have heavy bleeding all the time than continue feeling the way I was, which the doctor laughed at me for saying. I never want to go back to the N&N again.

Had my knee done at Spire but it was NHS. They were brilliant! Quicker than I was expecting - only two years apparently. It was fine. They've done physio after to check on it and I've had clinic at the hospital too to make sure it's doing okay.

Fantastic care. My midwife was amazing and so was everyone at the hospital. I also found the community midwife support to be excellent.

I was positioned next to the midwife station and I overheard them give each other thorough information when it was handover time. That really impressed me. Each midwife I spoke to called me by my name, it felt very personalised. The care I received was just really, really good.

Heart specialist app. all in one room now

My last visit to the heart specialist was good because it's all in one room now, you used to have to go all over the place but it's much easier now it's all in one room. It was nice to see my heart specialist again because I didn't get to see him last year.

Very good with my disabled son

My son sees six different consultants at the hospital and they're all very good. They're very good about calling and checking to make arrangements for his appointments. With his physio appointment we have to hand him over at the door. He's gone in for MRI scan during the pandemic and I've always felt he was safe there.
