For a while suffered from awful tiredness.
22nd August 2021Went to A&E as quicker than appt. Found nothing. Contacted Southgates and Dr Mackenzie contacted me. Spoke to me for a while and advised me to come in next day. He found the problem, wrote out a script and I feel much better. Thanks to this GP for listening to me.

One sided, as usual
13th August 2021Consultant delays due to Covid I can totally understand but asking for money for a letter due to this delay is disgusting. I will not take this lying down, I have patience with the system and the issues, the least you could do is show the same respect.

Can’t get an appointment
9th August 2021I have been waiting 2 weeks for a consultation but the receptionist never booked the appointment ! I now have to wait another 2 days just for another phone call to see if I am worthy of an appointment! After being told it’s due to COVID-19 yet the hospital are making face to face appointments and other health care services are! I can now understand why people are going straight to A and E and cutting the gp out.

Absolutely awful service and support
8th July 2021It has taken over 15 years to get my parents to admit they have an alcohol dependency issue and finally they agreed to speak to a doctor in order to get a full health MOT and some much needed support in order to try to tackle the issue. Getting an appointment has proved impossible. They were turned away when they called and told to use the online service. I had to help them fill out two online requests for a face to face appointment and explained what the issues were. They were only offered a short telephone call which did nothing to offer them any support. They were also offered a blood test but have heard nothing back from that and now cannot get another appointment to help them tackle the original issue. This is disgraceful - it is hard enough for addicts to ask for help, but when they finally do but can't access any help what is going to happen?!

Appointments, Impossible!
23rd June 2021We are now coming out of Covid and it is still impossible to get an appointment. The whole booking process is a nightmare. You have to complete so much information and then wait for someone to call you back; I do not think this is acceptable. It's no wonder there are constantly photos on the internet of ambulance's outside the QEH and people queuing to get in. Open up the Surgery and start seeing patient. Stop hiding behind Covid!

Menopause Advice
9th June 2021Really happy with the service provided. Lots of information from a specialist in women's health. I am now more confident in considering HRT. I also had to have my IUD removed and the doctor was very reassuring and caring so that the experience was as easy as possible.

Practice has gone from bad to worse
29th May 2021Since the amalgamation of the Woottons Surgery with Southgates the service has deteriorated badly. The Woottons surgery gave a friendly personal service but now it is difficult to get through. I tried several times to ring and get through to the reception line to be told I was 2nd in line 45 minutes later I was still 2nd in line. I then tried the dispensary line and they did not pick up at all! I went to the Wootton surgery only to get a very abrupt rebuke from the receptionist whom sarcastically said I needed to contact the Southgates and should not be there as I did not have an appointment. The Woottons surgery used to be very pro-active, arranging yearly blood tests, glucose tolerance tests etc. Now these things do not happen anymore.

Trying to call surguery as they have message
27th May 2021I have tried to call surgery as they have a message for me. However your phone system is diabolical I joined queue at 13 callers, 22 minutes later only down to caller 11, after 30 mins call drops. Groundhog day start again At that rate i would need to be waiting on phone for 2 hrs!!!! Not good enough

Dreadful administration practices
8th May 2021I asked a very simple question, this is what happened: It is taken from the Surgery's web site and you need to read it from bottom to top. Southgates & The Woottons Surgeries Kings Lynn and North Wootton Practice Response The practice replied on on Thu 6 May at 10:38. This reply first viewed on Thu 6 May at 10:39 Dear Patient, A telephone appointment has been arranged for with a doctor on Wednesday 12th May 2021 at 9.10am to discuss your diagnosis. Kind regards Southgates & The Woottons Surgeries Your reply sent Wed 5 May at 18:47 I have to question why you are being so obstructive. I have not asked for any documentary evidence, nor do I need it. I need someone at the practice to tell me what I have! COPD or asthma. Anyway to keep you happy I have enclosed a scanned copy of my driving licence. Just ask a GP to ring me, that is all that is necessary. The practice replied on on Wed 5 May at 15:16. This reply first viewed on Wed 5 May at 15:51 Good afternoon, Thank you for your request. However, in order for us to process this we need to see a form of ID as we are releasing information from your records. Please provide photo ID, this could be passport or driving license or a copy of utility bill, please see link provided with this response. I have printed a copy of a spirometry from 8.4.16 and a chest clinic consultation from 11.12.17. I need an ok from a GP to release and hopefully this will answer your question. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask. kind regards Administrator Your reply sent Wed 5 May at 11:31 This is singularly unhelpful. I asked a very simple question, have I got COPD or have I got asthma. Can I have a simple answer please. I do not need a GP to fill in a form for me. The practice replied on on Wed 5 May at 10:08. This reply first viewed on Wed 5 May at 10:43 Good morning, Is that you need a copy of your medical summary with the conditions that you have to be able to complete the insurance form or does this need to be completed by a GP? Kind regards Southgates & The Woottons Surgeries Your completed form sent Tue 4 May at 13:15 About the Patient's Problem Please tell us about the problem. If the practice is already aware of this problem, please tell us what has changed. On several occasions I have been informed that I have COPD or perhaps asthma. I now have to make a specific health statement for travel insurance where I must declare pre-existing conditions. Can you please advise me as soon as possible because I am required to complete the booking.
