The service there has always been very good. Recently it's taken a bit longer to get an appointment, but all the issues I've had have been addressed.

I have always had pleasant dealings with everyone in the surgery. The staff have been friendly and helpful when ever I've either visited for an appointment or had a query. I much prefer the human touch to the on line system but unfortunately due to covid rules everywhere, we have to get on with it. My particular doctor has been very supportive and thorough. I am experiencing a very stressful and painful health issue at the moment and I honestly feel I'm in good hands. I would definitely recommend this surgery to anyone who may not feel at ease with their current doctors.
From when I first registered this practice has been amazing. For me it has even improved further with the on-line service. I know that If I need so have a face-to-face appointment, I can have one. But, I am more than happy with a tele clinic if that is felt the best option.
But it is thanks to this practice and Dr Simon Morris that I can write this. Over two years ago I went to see Dr Morris with back pain, it was no normal back pain. Dr Morris immediately ordered blood tests as he suspected it was Myeloma an incurable bone cancer. The results came back as positive but as a High-Risk Myeloma sufferer and because of his quick reaction I was lucky to get on the MUK9B trial at the Norwich and Norfolk under the brilliant haematology team there. I was so lucky the Myeloma had not done a great deal of damage to my bone structure as it was caught early. Now after two years of weekly chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant I have successfully completed the first two consolidation stages of the trial and this Thursday I started the maintenance stage of the trial with my Myeloma in remission. I know it will come back and get me in the end but If it had not been for Dr Morris I probably would not be writing this now.
This is a brilliant GP practice, nothing it too much trouble and you are greated with a warmth from your first contact with each and every member of staff. We are so lucky to have a GP practice like this.
So I went to the surgery to find out if I could get tests for our household and got met with I can only describe as a weird mix of ignorance and hostility…evidently they don’t know what the rules are in our situation, the receptionist curtly asking me if I thought I should really be in the surgery at all once I had explained the situation. I then asked her if I was breaking any rules and she then said that she didn’t know….we are a year and a half into the pandemic and a GP surgery receptionist doesn’t know the current rules on the pandemic but is quite prepared to accuse me of breaking them. All she could suggest was to get a lateral flow test from the government web site and to check there for advise as to whether I should also be in isolation. Stalham surgery 0 points. Rude and unprofessional and ignorant. What do you exist for if this is what you do to a polite customer who was just seeking help to understand what he should do? For the record, my son has just returned from London where he was helping his girlfriend move house. Before he traveled back by train they both used a lateral flow covid 19 test and were both negative. I collected him from the station and drove him home. Time spent together in the car was over an hour. The next day his girlfriend felt ill and took another test which proved positive. A third test verified this. She is self isolating and my son is too (her in London and my son in his room in our house).
As I understand the rules I don’t need to self isolate as my son neither has symptoms, nor has tested positive for covid. Please speak to your receptionist and explain two things, that courtesy is always a prerequisite of her role and secondly please enlighten her as to the current government rules on covid

Feeling uneasy

I attended an appointment with a nurse last week for my routine contraceptive injection. Although she was very nice and friendly she made me feel uneasy. She didnt know what dose i have and kept checking the computer. I had to ask for my blood preasure to be done and to be weighed which is always routinely done. I felt at unease. I asked her to put a couple of notes on the system fir dr christie but on attending a nurses appointment today i found out she hadn't
I cannot praise enough my doctors and all the staff at both of the surgeries for the guidance, help and support that I am given for my severe anxiety and depression and any other health issues that I have encountered over the years. I am always treated with total care and understanding from everybody and the tremendous support from my doctor, Doctor Sale, is second to none and I am truly truly grateful.
To still be able to get help through this dreadful pandemic is to be greatly admired and I thank all of the staff for their dedication in being there for us. We should appreciate that we have such a wonderful practice on our doorstep. The best.
After my previous 3 experiences in Stalham Green Surgery, it's safe to say I will not be returning and change over to the better surgery at the top of Stalham. The reception staff are rude, unfriendly and extremely patronising. This is by far the WORST service I have received from the NHS.
It's a real shame because once you get seen by a doctor, of which all are professional, clean and easy to talk to, its ruined by the front staff.
You are not able to book an in-advance appointment, so its obscene for people who have to work early until late. Its also disgusting that the dispensary closes as stupid hours also! Not only this, the surgery have changed their opening hours so often that no one (even the staff) knows when the surgery will next open together with dispensary.
This place needs a COMPLETE overhaul of staff, with better, more friendly and PROFESSIONAL personnel to take charge of this place. You lot should be ashamed of yourselves for letting down the NHS.

computer says no moment

Having not realised the surgery had changed pharmacy hours, I turned up 28 minutes after it closed today to be told they couldnt provide me my medication. I asked nicely if there wasnt away as it means I am without medication for the weekend and was told they are 'not allowed to'. No concern about whether the medication is life supporting or anything - just computer says no. Why cant the surgery open normal hours like others are now doing - is the virus more likely to attach after 4.30? Surely longer opening hours would reduce the risk of infection because there would need be less patients at anyone time and pharmacy staff are better protected than shopworkers who dont get the choice of reducing hours

I am sure there will be an excuse about cleaning etc - but seriously? 5 months in and this hasnt been worked out to put the patients first.Staffing cant be a problem anymore as shielding has effectively finished and the levels of protection are better than in most work environments
