Doctor has refused referrals many times with no reason given which has led me to ask other GPs in the surgery. It is awkward and embarrassing especially on one A&e letter it recommended a referral and the surgery rang asking if I wanted the referral but the doctor had already rejected it. She often forgets to do things too such as ‘I’ll look this up for you, I’ll do this and let you know’. I don’t mind looking up things myself but I wish she would say why she doesn’t think a referral is necessary.

I don't usually leave reviews, but on this occasion I feel it is deserved. We attended the practice on Monday, the compassion and care Hannah on reception showed my husband went above and beyond any experience we've had before. He was quite unwell and Hannah made sure he got the care he needed. Thank you.

Hannah from Mind

Hannah (The recovery worker from MIND) is an absolute superstar together with her colleague MH Nurse Adam. She is so kind, understanding, gentle and I look forward to seeing her. It is great to be able to discuss my MH difficulties with such a lovely lady and with a much longer appointment than with a GP. We have made plans to help moving forward and she has printed off a workbook, shared other services and referred me for extra support such as Well-being. I have recommended her to many others as she is so lovely and I am very grateful for her kindness. A huge thank you to Hannah and to Old Mill for providing her services, it has made such a difference to my mental health :)
Thank you to Poringland surgery for managing to get me seen on the same day. Paramedic Ian was amazing with his knowledge and especially his excellent manner. He really took care of me and gave me the reassurance I needed. Thank you!

I was so worried and continued to put off this appointment, but the receptionist (Hannah) was so kind and understanding she got me in on the same day. Affter seeing an equally lovely Dr (Maleki) I am now hopefully on the right track to get help.
I am very appreciative of the help.
I have been with this practise for over 40 years and it has always been excellent. I am not normally minded to post reviews as everyone is seeking them but in this case I feel I must make an exception . Over the past year I have had the need to visit the practise more often than usual (getting older!!) Without exception every interaction with the practise teams at both surgeries has been pleasant , helpful and totally profession with good advice received and timely access to the services required . There is much negative comment about the NHS these days but this practise appears to be a notable exception- it is a shining star! Thank you

I was supposed to have a prescription sent over from the hospital which wasn't sent. I was told the GP couldn't prescribe what I needed as it was a hospital prescription. I wasn't given a proper explanation and was spoken to abruptly. I eventually was given something else instead which I couldn't use because it was dangerous with another condition I have. It took over two weeks to get what I needed and it was very confusing.

It would appear in this case that the issue has been created by communications between the hospital and the practice. There are certain medications that cannot be prescribed in primary care, and it appears the team have done their best to resolve the issue with the information available, though this would have meant contact would have had to be made with the hospital to seek clarification and a suggested alternative.
I would like to hear more about your experience to better understand your concerns.

I went in with a rash, they consulted with the hospital and got me an appointment there two days later. Very quick.
