I have had a few medical issues recurrently - nothing major but just a result of being run down.
On every occasion I have received a same day telephone consultation.
Reception staff are alway polite and I feel listened to and have received excellent treatment from the medical team.
I am very thankful to be registered with Old Mill Surgery.

All the staff I have encountered have been kind, caring and helpful. I have had excellent experiences of both telephone and in-person appointments.
Dr Cramer was lovely and nothing felt rushed or dismissed. The receptionists have been polite, respectful and kind when asking what the appointment is for.
I think we are really lucky to have the 8am daily appointment service - I have always been able to see a Doctor or Nurse practitioner when needed.

Brilliant Surgery

This surgery have been brilliant for me, my husband and little boy.
I had severe health anxiety last year and Dr Prentice was absolutely amazing. She gave me so much of her time and was so reassuring and patient with me.
The whole team were very understanding, even the receptionists were considerate of my anxieties when dealing with my appointments and follow ups.
My husband has also received excellent care, as has my little boy, always being contacted and/or seen on the day of calling.
I work as a nurse at another local surgery and appreciate the pressures they are under and manage exceptionally well
We feel very grateful to be with this surgery and they certainly deserve 5 stars.

Always left feeling deflated

After today I have decided to leave the practice. Every experience I have here just leaves me feeling deflated and worse than before. Rude and unwelcoming reception staff, horrible 8 o'clock lottery greeted with sighs and huffs, and if you're otherwise considered healthy (basically under the age of 40) they'll be a last priority. I feel like my symptoms and healthcare are never taken seriously because of my age. I haven't had a good experience at the practice for a few years now but unfortunately the last few times i am made to feel like a burden and for a place that is supposed to prioritise healthcare, I feel you do nothing but (unless over the age of 40).

I emailed some photos through to the surgery and got to see a paramedic same day. I was very impressed with the speed of response and the advice given.

Always feel looked after

My whole family (aged 8-45) use the surgery and have always been pleased. Feel safe and looked after. Never feel rushed and always cared for. They go out of their way to help when it’s urgent, when we need paperwork (the eldest has multiple disabilities) and they listen and take time for all of us. They explain what is going to happen when and all staff are helpful, from reception to GP or paramedic. we’ve always managed to speak or see someone when we need to and the staff really try their best to help fully each time. So lucky they’re out local surgery and we chose them other the other practice in the village.

Disappointing outcome of request

The Dr's and staff are fantastic, however I have recently been disappointed by a request made at the surgery. I am scheduled to do a cycle event in Italy at the end of September and require a medical certificate to confirm that my ECG and BP readings are normal which allows me to enter (this is a requirement in Italy). Old Mill Poringland carried out the ECG and BP test, each was recorded as normal and I was advised to leave the form for the Dr to sign. I confirmed I was happy to pay the fee required for it to be signed. I was subsequently contacted to advise the Dr could not do this as it is considered private work. I am not able to find a private Dr who has access to my medical records or who can provide an ECG or BP test and I feel my own Dr is best placed to provide simple confirmation that my results were normal when tested at the beginning of September, which is all that is required
