Unfortunately I've had to ring the surgery twice in as many weeks and although I had to wait 20th in line when I spoke to the receptionist I found her very pleasant and helpful.
Got to see nurse/practitioner same day and she was fantastic.

Perfect patient care from nurse practitioner Jane.
Jane has been very helpful with my medical care. Jane listens to what I have to say about my health, never rushes me and always finds a way of helping me. Checks me from head to toe and always happy and kind.
Receptionists always helpful when I call and listen to me and find a solution to my issues?

I have been treated with respect and kindness on every visit to the surgery from the reception staff, nurses, doctors and practitioners. I have had to use the surgery a lot recently to sort out prescriptions, appointments and to take my special need adult son for injections and blood taken. EVERY occasion we have been shown so much kindness and support!!

I have only good experiences at Orchard Surgery.
Since I have been registered with them from moving from another local surgery they have been nothing but helpful and understanding.
Through my pregnancy with my son they ensured my happiness and health was the top priority due to suffering a miscarriage in the past. The health care professionals I saw always gave me the best advice and where kind and caring at every point in my pregnancy.
When my son was born I couldn’t ask for bette care! If ever an issue with my son I was seen within that day or two days, I always was able to speak to a health care professionals on the phone if unable to visit face to face (as I am a non driver)
Most of my family are registered at Orchard surgery and I cannot thank them enough for the care they give my relatives two being elderly.
When I call into the surgery the staff are always kind and understanding. Always willing to find a solution to any problem.
I cannot thank the staff at orchard enough for what they do for us as a family.
Nothing is too much for them, in my experience the person centred care I receive is second to none and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
I feel there should be harsher consequences to the public when they come in abusing the staff, I have been witness to some abuse to staff and it is absolutely horrible. No one should come into work awaiting to be bashed by a member of the public especially not them as they are doing a job many of us would not want to do.
Thank you Orchard.

Uneducated and rude doctor

I had the misfortune of having an appointment with a DR who was nothing short of rude and uninterested . I brought my son to the surgery as the first step of securing a referral for adhd. I was cut short in sentences , patronised, and given incorrect information. As someone who is studying a diploma involving adhd awareness, I'm well educated on the matter . I was told by the doctor that my son was not adhd because he was able to sit on the chair for all of our short lived appointmet, he did comment on his fidgeting though but still this was " normal ". According to the doctor a child with adhd would be running circles around the room because they are just hyperactive. This information being given out by a doctors is appalling! Hyperactivity is the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to adhd . There are so many signs and symptoms to look out for most of which my son exhibits . Considering the 3 types of adhd within the spectrum " hyperactive, inattentive and mixed " telling a parent because a child can sit on a chair they don't have adhd could be so damaging to a child that needs a diagnosis. He was uninterested when I tried to tell him how, in each year of schooling so far, my sons teachers have flagged signs to me . I strongly feel this DR should re education himself on send. And have more time to give parents who come to him regarding these matters . I'll continue my referral for an adhd assessment with the schools backing and get my son the support he needs .

Forgot to ring me

I received a letter telling me to phone for a cervical smear. I duly phoned to make an appointment, to be told there was a backlog due to Covid and to wait for them to contact me. It has been nearly a year. Today I was at the practice for a routine blood test and enquired. On checking, it was found the practice had 'forgotten' to contact me. It isn't good enough, it was on the news about the rise in breast and cervical cancer not long ago, due to the interruption by Covid. If I hadn't asked, I wouldn't have even got an appointment. However, the nurse I saw today, albeit it unnecessarily, as the practice didn't know I was cared for by the hospital, was pleasant and very helpful and I now have an appointment booked.

Confusion resolved

I rang this morning after being texted by the doctor for two separate issues. I have previously had little contact with the surgery other than the normal things as we get older. The initial wait was a bit of a pain but when I spoke to the receptionist she managed to sort out the confusion and booked me in for blood tests and the reviews I needed in a pleasant and understanding manner.
This is not the first, nor the second that they have failed to put me on a waiting list or get a doctor to phone when I was given an phone appointment.
They told me they will change my medication but they didn't.
They have taken items off my prescription that I use, and told to buy it, that costs more than the prescription.
The surgery says all the right words to make you feel listened to, but like a politician they do nothing, empty words.
Many times I have told them to use my home phone and not my mobile, but they don't take notes, so still keep asking the same question.
The Doctors give tests, but don't follow up on the results.
This is the first time in my whole life I have ever given a written complaint about anything, but I feel its necessary to help other people.
I would give them one star as they surgery has not improved at all.
