Dear Anonymous Thank you for your feedback - we always try and give as much time as is needed for talking over a situation or medical complaint; but we have to balance that desire with the needs of other patients who are waiting in the waiting areas - hence the rule of one thing per appointment. However, we are able to offer 'double appointments' of 20 minutes in length if your mother would wish to discuss more than 1 problem - please ask the receptionist for a double appointment at the time of booking the consultation. Thank you again for your feedback. Ian Wilson Practice Manager

Dear Anonymous Your comments about Thorpewood Medical Group are most appreciated - I don't know which GP you are talking about, but I will make sure all the Doctors are aware of your kind words. The mental health trust is in the process of revamping their specialist services, and I do hope that their changes help you with your needs. Thank you again for your kind words. Dear Anonymous Thank you for your comments. The Partners have looked at the phone answering service, and feel that it is better having 4-5 receptionists answering the phone here at the surgery, than employing the services of a remote call centre, which could be located anywhere. This allows for the personal knowledge and continuity that you refer to, but one of the downsides of this approach is that there may be wait to have your call answered first thing in the morning, at the peak time for inbound calls. We certainly do give extra time for certain needs - the very aged or infirm patient is allocated double the time of a standard appointment; but that clearly reduces the appointment availability for others, so can only be done sparingly.
