Failure

When it’s at its best you must wait 4 weeks but now for 5 weeks I’ve been continually informed by a receptionist (whom May I add are usually rude, which begs the question in their lengthy dialogue when on hold, that verbal abuse must and will not be tolerated)that all doctors are on sick leave and there’s no point phoning 111 as they cannot take anymore!
To be informed to attend A&E or a walk in which is 25 miles away, is simply disgusting when a lot of population is elderly and not everyone can afford or have the time to simply pop off and cause undue stress to staff at the already overwhelmed services in hospital.
Nurses at the surgery are fabulous but honestly it needs a complete overhaul of the services it provides.
Simple things are being overlooked. Management is diabolical so why take more patients from other areas when they simply cannot cope with the residents in their own village?!
There is no hope for this surgery at all. They get a good doctor then burn them out and others well they need to be struck off! Patients are rushed if they’re fortunate to gain an appointment, handed a prescription of whatever is available to be frank.
3 years I’ve waited for a hospital referral and I very much doubt I’m the only person.
Also shame on them for not advertising that we could all have our say today. That was quite convenient wasn’t it?
Disgusting and a complete failure
Very difficult to get an appointment post pandemic. It used to be fantastic to be able to book them online via patient access pre covid. The ‘ring on the day’ system is beyond stressful. The re-introduction of the online form would solve a lot of time for all involved. Then cases could be prioritised, allocated phone, video or face to face appts etc. Also, surely the use of a text message to confirm when test results are in/need a follow up call would be more efficient than the current “ring us in a couple of weeks” system. However, when you do manage to see someone, they are lovely - particularly the nurses.
Regular blood tests are performed with care. Results are monitored and acted upon if needed.
Have always found the practice staff to be kind, considerate, and helpful.
Always very difficult to get through on the phone.
GP was 2 hours late for my appointment, and then very offhand.
I turned up for a precooked blood test at 11.30 and was told it couldn’t be done as they have to be done by 11.

I have found out second hand about your flu vaccination programme
i am VERY CONCERNED that ithe iinformation is not widely available it is no point putting stuff on the website it is not a site i look at.
As it is there are no appointments following a booked up first clinic and the booking form on here is unavailable
HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE
I had a Dr appointment 3 weeks ago as a new patient to the practice. I discussed my situation with the Dr and he agreed to continue sending my regular medication prescriptions through to my chosen pharmacy of choice of the past 5 years! 3 weeks later, I still have not received my medication despite several phone calls, no one seems to know what's happening, he hasnt included notes on my file, and I am still awaiting an appointment for blood tests which should ha e happened weeks ago!
I live with a rare life threatening disease, and don't feel this is the greatest start, and am actually quite fearful that I'm not in great hands. I require my medication daily to survive, not just because it's a good idea...
I hope the practice sort themselves out, implement systems that support their patients, and restore my hope. But if I've not had a response or resolution by the end of this week, they are quite literally putting my life at risk which is unacceptable!
I got told off for being two minutes late for an appointment, but it's okay for them to run behind by 2 hours?! How is that fair? I'm usually early but today I got caught up in an incident and almost missed an appointment it took FAR too long to even get. I was TWO minutes late and made to feel like garbage. This is the only surgery in the village and it's so utterly below standards, but the grumpy receptionist is really letting it down. How very lucky we got a lovely doctor to make it worth the bother.
Never see anyone come in or out when I walk past, but those who do never come out with a pleasant experience! 40 minutes wait in a stuffy, uncomfortable wait room only to be shooed away time and time again because their bloods come back normal. My back pain is not normal. My spine is now so curved that I physically cannot sit in most chairs properly now. But because I'm in my mid 20s, either I need to exercise more (as if having a toddler isn't tiring enough) sleep more (again, impossible for the same reason) and improve my posture, which is painful and brings me back to square one. It's unbearable, frustrating and maddening. I've given up and accepted that I'll never be able to stand straight again. Nobody will see me face to face, but they can't see my back through a phone line, can they?! I now have a major humpback, which eventually may impact my mental health, which I've only just stopped struggling with as much. What hope is there?
With my younger son (4 months old at the time) we were refused an appointment to assess a worsening rash that I suspected to be from a dairy allergy. It took three months of calls, letters and faff for them to decide to ask for pictures sent by email and confirm my suspicion. I missed out on so much quality time with him due to all the fussing about, and him being left miserable because we were told to simply push through it. I don't care to delve into my own problems. The hassle simply isn't worth the 40 minute wait to even be seen, let alone the extremely uncomfortable, boiling hot and smelly waiting room. I sincerely hope I don't get sick enough to go there. However, there is one nurse who is just lovely, she makes the visit so much more pleasant. The facilities, the organisation and reception is sadly below standard, and leaves many having to decide whether to stay home and hope their ailments go away or go to hospital to actually talk to a person and gain emotional support aswell as medical.
I was feeling unwell and had an initial appointment for blood tests. I got these back for a hospital appointment and was concerned that I had high levels of vitamin D highlighted in red on the document, and it was marked as an action. I tried to re-contact the surgery to discuss this further with my GP and was unable to get an appointment and was told to book a blood test in six weeks which was impossible. Eventually I managed to get an appointment with the practice nurse who got me an immediate referral to OLPAS the following week who then said I needed blood tests. I have repeatedly had out-of-date messages asking me to have blood tests that I have already had and my most recent appointment was cancelled at short notice. I have nothing but praise for the male practice nurse and the reception team are doing their best, but there seems to be an issue about my medical information and test results being updated and the GP having either out-of-date information or just not reading my notes.
