Carers Matter Norfolk is the countywide service funded by Norfolk County Council and the NHS to provide support to unpaid carers. All services are free and available to people caring for another adult. Support is available to those caring for someone living in Norfolk, whether the carer lives in the county or elsewhere (caring at a distance). Carers Matter Norfolk is a carer-led service, putting you at the heart of everything that we do. The service offer is flexible in approach and tailored to meet what matters to you as an individual carer.
You can contact Carers Matter Norfolk to explain your situation and find out about the support that is right for you.
Tell us about your experience of using our service and help us to develop and improve it so we can reach more carers and ensure they have the right support to live well and independently.

Awful service

Awful service asked to speak with the manager to be told they don’t deal with any assessments personally and they work in the background. Why is there a service manager if they can’t carry out the services needs and talk with the general public!!!!!!!

We're sorry you feel you have had a bad experience when contacting us. The assessments and support to carers we provide are delivered by a team specifically trained to do this. This is not a part of the service carried out by managers.
Help that I didn't know existed.

I am new to this job as Carer and I have been managing, but didn't realise that there are people around who can help. The gentleman i spoke to took 5 actions which has helped me to feel more able to care for my Wife. We all need charities such as this to help when we find ourselves in a situation, which in our younger years we never thought we would be in.

It is really important to us that you, as carers, are given the help and support that you need.
We're glad that the action plan you were able to come up with together has been helpful to you.
Please do contact us if you need further support.

I can't fault carer's matters Norfolk I've been struggling for 2 years pushing my mum around in a wheelchair finding it very difficult but I rang at my lowest point and all the help I received was 100%.
They updated my carers need and help me get a power pack for her wheelchair. It was so quick and kept me informed and update, I can't thank them enough and the charity that supplied the power. I can ow enjoy many more days out with mum

I’ve used CarersMatterNorfolk on a number of occasions now and always found them to be extremely helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I had a lovely conversation with them yesterday, updating my current caring role. In addition to this, they produced a 6 point action plan to help with my current needs as a carer. Fantastic, thank you.

I was overwhelmed by the support and surprised at how much I opened up to a stranger on the phone. I did not realise I was holding so much in myself.

We are so pleased that you recognised you could talk openly to us about your situation and needs.
It is so important that carers are given the opportunity to get the support and advice they need, as they can often be very focussed on the needs of the person they are supporting. Carers being listened to and given support is vital, and why we are here.

Florence and Samantha have been very supportive and friendly. It has been great to communicate with them both and I would recommend this service to anyone who is unsure of the help they may be able to receive. Thank you again for all your help.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.
We are glad to have been of help, and we really do want to hear from anyone who is looking after someone if there are things they would value help with. As you say, many people who are carers are unsure - or unaware - of the range of support and services available to them.

We are pleased that you contacted us and that we have been able to help you.
There can be so many situations where people looking after someone face a problem and do not know of what support is available. We are here so that carers can find out about, and get, the services and support that are relevant to them.
