Carers Matter Norfolk is the countywide service funded by Norfolk County Council and the NHS to provide support to unpaid carers. All services are free and available to people caring for another adult. Support is available to those caring for someone living in Norfolk, whether the carer lives in the county or elsewhere (caring at a distance). Carers Matter Norfolk is a carer-led service, putting you at the heart of everything that we do. The service offer is flexible in approach and tailored to meet what matters to you as an individual carer.
You can contact Carers Matter Norfolk to explain your situation and find out about the support that is right for you.
Tell us about your experience of using our service and help us to develop and improve it so we can reach more carers and ensure they have the right support to live well and independently.

It was good to have a conversation with Karen. She was very understanding and had some useful advice. I had lots of information sent to me. It can be a very full day being a carer for someone you love and having a talk with someone who is understanding is a big boost. I don't feel abandoned any more and will take in all the information sent. Thank you Karen

Being a carer can be a very demanding role and feel very isolating - but there is support available to people who are looking after someone. We are glad that the conversation and information have been helpful. If you would like further help or support please do get in touch again.

Very professional, supportive service. The adviser was very friendly and knowledgeable she also signposted me to other organisations who could support my family.
Thank you so much for helping me at a time when I really needed advice.

Thank you for your feedback. It is important to us that carers are able to get the support that they need. It is not easy for people to know what is available to them and the people they care for. We are glad that we have been able to help you get support that will benefit you and your family.

Carers Matter Norfolk have been running 'carers cuppas' on zoom, a chance for carers to meet, discuss things and also ask a member of staff for advice if needed. We have just been told this evening that this service is ending next week - no consultation with users and very little notice. A very upset group of people. I now feel worthless and not wanted by this organisation. NB the staff member that ran our meetings was brilliant and it is not her decision.

Apologies that we did not respond to your comment when it was left. The Carers' Cuppas is a service that has continued, and is still available to unpaid carers who clearly value the support and opportunities to share that it gives them.

I had an initial call from Haley to discuss my role as a carer and to find out what help and support is there for me if I need it in future. She was helpful, friendly and it's so good to know where I can turn to if I need assistance.

Hayley provided immediate practical support and understanding of a wider story of aircrew being damaged by flying in jets - an excellent response.

Karen who I talked to listened, was very patient when I was talking about emotional subjects and even took the time to find extra support for an LGBT+ Carer like myself.

I was a bit nervous about calling to discuss my carers assessment in more detail, but Hayley was kind and friendly and helped me pinpoint things that would help me in my caring role and also support me as a person. I feel much more confident that I will be able to carry on caring knowing that I can call again for advice and support if I need to. Thank you.

And do not hesitate to contact us again, we know people's needs and situations can change over time. Advice and support is available.
