Carers Matter Norfolk is the countywide service funded by Norfolk County Council and the NHS to provide support to unpaid carers. All services are free and available to people caring for another adult. Support is available to those caring for someone living in Norfolk, whether the carer lives in the county or elsewhere (caring at a distance). Carers Matter Norfolk is a carer-led service, putting you at the heart of everything that we do. The service offer is flexible in approach and tailored to meet what matters to you as an individual carer.
You can contact Carers Matter Norfolk to explain your situation and find out about the support that is right for you.
Tell us about your experience of using our service and help us to develop and improve it so we can reach more carers and ensure they have the right support to live well and independently.

Thank you Hayley for spending time on the phone helping me when I was upset. I felt much calmer after the call.

Other healthcare professionals have recommended the service to me. I was aware of the potential support they could offer - even just being someone at the end of the phone. The person I spoke with was kind and caring and showed real empathy. It was welcome to feel supported.

I first contacted this organisation in August 2022 when I needed someone to talk too and guide me to the right place to help with my caring role. Rebecca, thank you very much for your kind and extremely helpful emails during the summer. I really appreciate all the information and your time on this. It has made a big difference knowing the support is here as and when I might need it. I am happy to have contacted you last year and again recently to receive such a brilliant service. Thank you again.

Samantha took the time to find out about my circumstances and signposted useful resources and support that I’d previously been unaware of. I’m very grateful for this. It’s good to know help is available at a time in my life when I can often feel quite isolated. Thank you.

I have felt alone for many years of my life. I had my first carers assessment completed by Hayley and was introduced to lots of new information to help and enjoyed the flow of the conversation. I was impressed with Hayley’s knowledge, passion to help and kindness. I feel less alone now. Thank YOU!

Hayley has been most helpful in guiding me to the various services. Having called the first time she then phoned 6 weeks later to follow up if we had any further needs.

A very useful telephone conversation, during which my dad and I were treated with kindness and empathy. We had a few interruptions during our chat, due to my mum needing attention, but this was handled with great patience and understanding. We were signposted to a lot of relevant help and services, many of which I already had dealings with, but our lovely Services Advisor had plenty of other helpful advice too. It was a very pleasant, calming and reassuring experience, and I was impressed with her wealth of knowledge and warm approachable manner. I felt less alone and more able to cope after the conversation and look forward to the follow-up call
