I had an appointment for a check up for glaucoma and it was excellent. I was in and out of the appointment within 10 minutes. They also booked me into surgery where I received excellent care. I have to go in for a check up yearly to make sure it's not coming back but it's always great service.

Thank you for posting your comments about the care you received earlier this year from our ophthalmology team both during your clinic appointment and the associated surgery. I hope that you continue to recover well and will ensure sure that all the team that cared for you are aware of the feedback you have provided.

I had a health check or assessment because I needed a hip replaced. During the assessment, the doctor discovered I had an irregular heart beat and I had an echocardiogram and will be returning for further tests. The fact this was picked up as part of a routine health check is excellent and shows how diligent staff are and may well have saved my life!

I am very glad to hear of the care you received at your recent pre-operative assessment prior to a planned hip replacement. I hope that the further tests you received have provided the team caring for you with extra information in order to continue to provide you with the care you need. Please be reassured to know that I will be sharing your comments with the team in pre-assessment.

I went to Queen Elizabeth for a knee replacement. Before the surgery began, the doctor explained everything in simple terms and was extremely helpful. The surgery was successful and I was moved onto physiotherapy which was also a great help. After the 6 weeks of therapy I was visited at my home where they provided me with some equipment to make my living easier. The staff are all very friendly as well.

Cancelled appointment

The Queen Elizabeth has troubles with sticking to the appointments they give out. I have a bad eye and was booked in at the Queen Elizabeth to see what lenses I needed to help with my problem. I received a letter a week before the appointment saying that my appointment was cancelled for unforeseen circumstances. It was rearranged and booked in for another day in a few weeks. This is not the first time this has happened, so I wont be surprised if this appointment is cancelled as well. It's unacceptable.
Excellent hospital, I wouldn’t be walking without the care of the hospital staff. I have a type of diabetes that hinders my walking ability but it was picked up by the hospital and treated before it deteriorated. Such a good hospital. I’m still alive because of them.

Lovely staff but long waiting time

I was at the hospital for an operation and I was told to be there at 7:30am in the morning. I didn't go into theatre for my operation until gone 3 or 4pm and so by this point I hadn't eaten or drank anything since the previous night. I appreciate there are people who are having more important operations than me, but they would've had a provisional list of order and so would know I would be near the bottom. They could've got me in at lunch time or something to start my wait. The staff were lovely and couldn't have done anything more in the situation in hand but in terms of process, this could be improved. The team of staff as I was going in for my operation were brilliant and reassured/calmed me as I was very nervous.
I had post-operation complications and so came to A&E and was seen very quickly and then admitted. I ended up staying there for three days and the staff were lovely and very reassuring. I obviously had luck on my side as I ended up on a ward in a side room on my own, which meant I was able to get some sleep. When I arrived at A&E there were no beds, but that just meant I was in the A&E department for a bit longer, however I was still being treated at this point so this wasn't too much of a problem. The staff work incredibly hard here!
I rang up to ask a question about my upcoming operation of which I haven't received a date for yet, and the member of staff I spoke to was incredibly rude to me. I didn't know who I needed to speak to and when asked who my consultant was, I wasn't sure as the name on my letter was a man and the individual I saw for my appointment was a lady. She then said to start from the beginning by getting my file up and asked me my name and then asked me if I even knew my name as I didn't know the previous information. Very unprofessional.
I had to visit the West Dereham Outpatients for a pre-operation assessment and the staff there were so lovely, friendly and calming. I have never had an operation so didn't know what the process is or what happens. They explained everything from when I receive the appointment letter to when I will be fit and ready to get back to work. I even had my bloods taken and didn't feel a thing!
