Most unsupportive and incompetent reception

The website form is offline and says to contact the surgery. The appointment was non-urgent so was not expecting to see anyone - however, I find it highly incomprehensible that a receptionist is unable to book appointments when calling in. It's pure bone idleness and hinders patient safety. Told that I have to have support to cokplete a form. Told to gfiull in the form in the morning or call up then. How useless. The person on the phone needs to undertake a course in customer service and remember they are paid to help patients - not hinder and fob-off. Especially when it's to do with withdrawing from treatment.

Very hard to get past receptionist

I handed in an urgent form that needed to be back within the week. 3 weeks later the drs haven't even looked at it!!
Whenever I try to book to see a Dr the online portal is always closed so I ring up, I'm 60th in line. Finally get through only to have to convince the receptionist that I need an urgent appointment, I'm not comftable telling them my problems. Don't hear anything for 3 days, they booked a nurse not a Dr. I book time off work to attend the appointment, to be told its been cancelled without them letting me know!! The receptionist did not care in the slightest. I always leave feeling so small and worthless after speaking to a receptionist. I never had this with any other practise. Awful service, surely they have a duty of care? Something needs to be don't about this surgery.

Fantastic Service provided by Medication Team

I would like to compliment the Medication Team at Watton Medical Practice for their assistance over the past couple of days in sorting out my medication. The service I received was prompt, polite and efficient and. in my opinion could not be faulted.
I have been a patient at Watton Medical Practice for 37 years and I and my family have never received other than exemplary service from all areas of the surgery.
I have read the negative 1 star reviews on this site and from the tone of the majority of these reviews I would suspect that this was the "angry, looking for a row" attitude that they approached the surgery and perhaps the whole of the complainers lives!
From my experience of over 72 years on this planet you get much further by being polite. The old saying "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" is so very true. Try being nice, it works!

Receptionist - why?

I wanted to book a telephone conversation with Nurse Practitioner to discuss a hospital update but online service says if you want to book call the landline. So I did - waited for 20 minutes for the Receptionist to tell me to book online. I said that its not available so she told me to wait until Monday! Is there any point to a receptionist? Is there a personal service or care in this system at all. She was very unhelpful and so I asked what was the point of her. I have always been happy with the Doctors and Nurses but its very difficult to book and get help

Non existent service

Fobbed off all the time a passed around from pilar to post. Have an ongoing health issue which i have suffered with for many years and have reached out for help from this practice on numerous occassions but getting absolutely nowhere. What does it take to get a face to face appointment at this surgery? I know during the time i have lived here the only faces i have seen are the receptionists. As for the web form you fill in, what an absolute joke that is! There have been numerous occassions where i have noy recieved a response at all and when i do get one, i get a very short and unhelpful reply fobbing me off to norwich walk in clinic for treatment. You are GPs for god sake, start acting like it!

Can't make an appointment or see my disabled

I have been trying for as long as I can remember to make an appointment, the website is always closed for appointments and when I try to ring in am number 30 in the que! I have been put through once after waiting an hour and a half to request an urgent (but simple) appointment for my very ill disabled child, got told they would call back soon, I waited 6 hours!! Only for a Dr to be very reluctant on seeing my child, I literally had to push to get them seen!
Never had this from my previous drs then were fab. It seems the receptionists are rude and un caring and there's just a lack of care throughout.
No wounder the hospital is under such strain when you can't see a Dr in your own town!
I am in severe pain day by day but can't get seen by a Dr, absolutely diabolical.

Worst GP I’ve ever been with

Again another bad experience with my ‘local GP’ that fobs off and says go to Norwich to be seen.
Was only asking what vaccinations are needed for a trip abroad, but apparently that’s too much for Watton Medical Practise and this requires a 40 minute drive to Norwich to do, WMP really does live up to the worst GP surgery I’ve ever been with.
There are no excuses, don’t blame covid, don’t blame lack of GPs, don’t blame lack of funding, don’t blame increase in population of the town, you have never been good and just continue the same level of incompetence and offer no help to your patients.
P.S I didn’t rate cleanliness as you never offer your patients an appointment to be seen, although maybe that means the practise is quite clean and you deserve a 5* for it because no one is ever being seen?
